Court of Honor

Monday May 14 @ 7:00pm. Scouts are expected to wear full uniform. Families are invited as we recognize our Scouts for their accomplishments. This is the evening program. No meetings or activities are planned afterwards.

Summer Camp Info.

The final deposit for Summer Camp is due by June 4. All Scouts must be paid in full by this date, or you will not be on the roster to go to camp. Adult leaders must also be paid in full by June 4.

Medical Forms: BSA policy states that ALL Scouts participating in outdoor activities must have a current medical form on file with our Troop. Weekend outings require Parts A & B to be filled out. ALL Summer Camp participants (Scouts and Adults) MUST have Parts A, B & C filled out in order to participate in camp. No exceptions!!! Go to the Forms page of our website to print a medical form. Summer Camp will be here before you know it. Don’t delay!!!

Upcoming Meeting Info.

-No Troop meeting on May 21 or May 28th.

-The next Troop meeting is June 4. Informed Consent Agreements for the whitewater rafting outing will be due then.

Wilderness Survival Outing Info.

Wilderness Survival Outing

-Departure for the campout this weekend is Friday at 6:00pm from the church parking lot. Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure an on-time departure. Please eat supper before arriving.

Return to the church parking lot is Sunday at 1:00pm. Please be prompt in picking your Scout up…:)

Additional information: for those going for the Wilderness Merit Badge, they need to bring a “wilderness survival kit” (they need to do the research on their own to determine what needs to be packed in a Wilderness Survival Kit. And, they should review be ready to repeat from memory the seven priorities for survival in a backcountry or wilderness location and explain the importance of each one with their counselor.

-Current Merit Badge classes end on May 7. Scouts should work to have all requirements completed by May 7 for the current merit badge classes being offered.

-Troop Court of Honor on May 14: Families are invited as we recognize our Scouts for their accomplishments. No food will be served. No regular Troop meeting will follow the COH. This is a night of recognition for our Scouts.

-April 21 Service Project Postponed: The April 21 service project to paint the curbs at the church has been postponed. We’ll reschedule and communicate the new dates in the near future.

-April 23 PLC Meeting: This Monday from 7:00-8:00pm, the newly elected members of the Patrol Leaders Council will meet. All newly elected Patrol Leaders, SPL, and ASPL should plan to attend. Bring pen and paper, or your Patrol Leaders Notebook. No Troop meeting this Monday 4/23.

Cycling Campout Details / April 16 Troop Meeting Info.

-Cycling Campout Details: Depart from the Church parking lot at 6:00pm on Friday April 13. Return to the Church parking lot on Sunday April 15 at 1:00pm. Scouts should bring their own bikes and safety gear. The group will be camping at The Rock Campground and cycling on a portion of the Silver Comet Trail.

-Informed Consent Agreements for the May 4-6 Wilderness Survival campout are due at the Troop meeting on Monday April 16. Go to the “Forms” page of our website to print and complete an ICA. This will be another relatively inexpensive outing. Total cost is estimated to be around $15-20. Scouts may work on Wilderness Survival merit badge, or other advancement opportunities. This is sure to be a fun outing !!!

-Troop elections on Monday April 16. Scouts interested in being a candidate for Senior Patrol Leader should e-mail Britt. Qualifications include: Minimum 1st Class Rank, have served as SPL, ASPL, or PL before. Patrols will elect new Patrol Leaders following the SPL election.

-Troop Service Project April 21: The Troop will be painting the yellow curbs at the church beginning at 9:00am on April 21. All scouts and adults are encouraged to participate. Scouts will earn service hours towards rank, as well as provide a service to our Chartered Organization.

April 9 Troop Meeting Info. / Summer Camp info.

-Cycling Outing: All Scouts who e-mailed Britt prior to the April 5 deadline with interest in the Cycling outing must bring the following to the Troop meeting on April 9: Completed Informed Consent Agreement, $10 check to the Troop, $10 CASH for patrol supplies. The $10 check to the Troop covers the campsite fees and fuel surcharge. Adults going on the outing should also submit a $10 check to the Troop.

-2nd Summer Camp Deposit deadline extended to April 9. We have several Scouts who have made the first deposit and not the second, or some who have not paid at all, even though I signed them up for classes yesterday. Therefore, we are extending the deadline to submit a $75 deposit on April 9. Remember, full payment of $225 must be submitted prior to the June 1 deadline.

Important Outing and Meeting Information

-All participants (Scouts and adults) interested in attending the April 13-15 Cycling/Campout must inform Britt by e-mail before Thursday April 5. Then, those Scouts who e-mailed Britt must turn in their Informed Consent Agreement at the April 9 Troop meeting.

-Cycling / Campout Info. This will be a fun and inexpensive outing. The plan is to camp at a campground near the Silver Comet Trail and then go cycling on Saturday April 14. You don’t have to go cycling to go on this outing. Scouts and adults can remain in camp and work on rank advancements or just hang out. The total cost for this outing is expected to be around $20-25. This includes the $10 cash for patrol supplies, campsite fee, and fuel surcharge. The actual cost will be communicated once we have a roster from Scouts who e-mail Britt by April 5.

-Troop Neckerchief Design Contest: We are currently accepting entries for a new Troop neckerchief. Submit your drawings or ideas to Britt during an April Troop meeting.

Troop Outing Information

Departure: Please arrive at the church parking lot on Friday March 23 around 5:30 pm for an on-time departure of 6:00pm.

March 19 Troop Meeting Information

-All participants (Scouts and adults) going on the March 23-25 campout should submit a $13 check to our Troop Treasurer this Monday March 19. This covers the $9 fuel surcharge and $4 campsite fee. All Scouts should also have $10 CASH to turn in during Patrol meetings to cover food and supplies costs.

-The second Summer Camp deposit of $75 is due this Monday March 19. Please make checks payable to Troop 513 and submit your deposit to our Troop Treasurer. The total cost for summer camp (July 15-21) is $225. This must be paid in full before June 1. New Scouts are encouraged to attend summer camp. It’s not too late to sign up!!!

-Summer Camp Class Schedule: All Scouts attending Summer Camp should visit the “Forms” page of our website and find the “Summer Camp Schedule and Course Catalog.” There you will find information about all the classes offered at summer camp. Choose your classes and send Britt an e-mail with your choices. Send Britt your class choices before March 20. New Scouts are encouraged to choose a TNT class, either TNT Tenderfoot or TNT 2nd Class. If you have any questions, just ask Britt. To ensure you get the classes you want, be sure and e-mail Britt your class choices by March 20!!! Don’t miss out!!!
